Now into its 20th year Cleethorpes is a firm favourite scooter rally destination, with a great campsite, plenty of B7B’s and caravans, epic pubs and a very welcoming town there’s something for everybody.
Run by the Mansfield Monsters/Olympics scooter clubs since 1998 Cleethorpes is one of the busiest mainland national rallies on the calendar.
Weekend camping is on Meridian Showground, a self-enclosed flat grassy campsite with proper toilets and showers. It’s a scooter only campsite, no cars, vans, caravans, motorhomes are allowed on the site.
If you arrive by scooter it’s just £15 for the full weekend, that includes camping and admission to the official evening do’s at the Beachcomber campsite (Sea Ln, Humberston, Cleethorpes DN36 4EP) just 5 minutes walk from Meridian. If you don’t come by scooter its £20 for the weekend.
If you’re unfortunate enough to have to come in a car/van/winnebago you’ll haver to park off site. There’s plenty of reasonably priced car parking close to the site but just remember you’ll have to carry all your camping stuff on to the site from the car park.
We have professional first aiders on site during the daytime and basic first aiders overnight. If you have any problems just come to the tower.
The campsite is gated, fenced all round and has 24 hour security.
There are catering vans on site, selling the usual rally food, coffee van etc. There’s also a pub across from the site that does food, a cafe, Mcdonalds and other food outlets within easy walking distance.
Official evening do
Their are plenty of tribute bands in the pubs in town but the official evening entertainment for the rally is at the Beachcomber. If you’re camping you’ll have a wristband already so it’s free to get in, if not it’s just £5 each night and the do is on until 2am.
Traditional & Northern
With a fine selection of hand picked DJ’s, two rooms of music – a main ‘everything goes’ traditional room and a northern soul room you’ll find something for all regular tastes. If you want a good night and a dance the Beachcomber is the place to be…
In the evenings from 8pm we run coaches to and from the campsite, town and the do. We pay for the coaches so they’re free to everybody, whether you’re on the campsite or not. They run until 2.30am so you can easily get back from the do to town, or town to the campsite.
Pick me up
Pick up/drop pff points are The Beachcomber, Waves bar (near the Pier) and the campsite.
Saturday is the custom show and parts fair on the campsite. It’s £3 to get in if you’re not camping on there (free if you are). The custom show runs 12-2pm, simply arrive and park your scooter up near the tower to enter.
Our dealers market is huge, with everything from get you home spares to clothing, patches, t-shirts, jeans and scooters to buy.
TRADERS MUST PHONE TO PRE-BOOK
We don’t organise the ride in (Grimsby & Cleethorpes Scooter Scene) organise that, click the link to find out the full details. If you want to join it, the ride in usually leaves The Premier Inn, Grimsby around 11am on Saturday (Appian Way, off Gilbey Road, Grimsby DN31 2UT).
That should pretty much cover everything, please read through this post before phoning with some daft question that has already been covered here 🙂
